School fish to add with Severums?

I have a school of 6 Red Irian Rainbows in my severum tank. Similar to the Bosemani rainbows, but they are a nice deep red/orange most of the time. Mine maxxed out at around 3-4 inches. The change from a bright silver to the red/orange almost daily. Very active, attractive, and don't seem to be bothered much by the cichlids.

You might also want to try some albino tiger barbs. They are very bright and as long as you keep a nice school, you shouldn't have any issues with fin nipping (they also don't seem to nip as much as there normal colored cousins). Although the severums don't exactly have long fins and are more than capable of defending themselves. Any of the larger tetras would be ok as well. Rainbows would be nice too.
 
I totally think you should get a school of rainbow fish! You don't have to stick to one type, depending on how many you have. I have 2 turquoise rainbows (Melanotaenia lacustris) and 3 Australian rainbows (Melanotaenia fluviatilis). They are about 2 years old as a group and the largest pair are about 3 inches and have mated (no babies cause the eggs got eaten lol).

Very fun fish to have. They swim around constantly and play/chase one another. Also fun to watch them eat. They are in my community tank with silver dollars and cichlids so they definitely hold their own. Also very hardy.. the biggest Australian got horribly bad ich and even with extensive skin wounds, she came back healthy as a horse.
 
Serpae are my favorites of the tetras.
Glossoleptis pseudoincisus are great busy fish with great red color.

I like the ideas for congo tetras, red serpea tetras, odessa barbs, and the iranian red rainbows.

I really am looking for something to be colorful.

The bleeding heart tetra, albino tiger barb, australian rainbow, buenos aires tetra, and hatches seemed a little dull colorwise even though they would probably make good tank makes.

I appreciate the help and feel free to leave any other suggestions as i am not going to purchase anything for a few weeks until i really decide what i want.
 
Would Tiger Barbs work with the sevs??
