School of Mala's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've seen it done before. I know a guy on another board that had multiple 14"+ mala's in a 180g, some were around 16".

I think it would be hit or miss though.

Yea, this is one of those situations where each case is different. Hopefully, each fish will be able to tolerate one another. I think the 24" foot print is more than adequate though for turning space.

ya i had to sell ur mala :( he was tearin everyone up when the lights went out :irked:

i would try a group of rainbow or gold wolves, alot more active and would prob be alot more fun to watch at feeding time :D

I have 8 malas in one tank. 135 gallon. I have had them since the day they were born on Jan. 2009. They are extremely active and will eat anything I put in the tank. They are all about 11 inches. The only time I had any problem was about 3 weeks ago a female had eggs, she kept 6 of the other fish on one side of the tank and left 1 male where the eggs were.Chris.

ive done it,in smaller tanks.:D
no problems,and done multiple times.

when given too much space, they will form territories.
you really dont want that.

I've tried to mix wolves - Sp. Peru and Mala -lasted about a month - RIP Sp.Peru.

I'd agree w/ the best bet being get'm young and small, maybe they'll grow up to tolerate each other.
