How big is your pond ? Any ideas of other species your my put in there ?

They breed like crazy. I usually pulled spawns once twice even three times a week when fully stocked. I will start re stocking asap. This time im only going to have 7-10 pairs. I dont need that many this time. They like to be in little colonies. I usually see 3-4 peacock beds in a 10 ft area. And thats all I need. Those few pairs will produce around 36,000 babies ea a season.

This means you will have an infinite number of pbass. lol. What do you do with them, sell em?

Last year we experimented with them. This year we are going to try and have them avalible on a regular basis and supply some of our suppliers. They will buy all I can produce.

The pond is 2 1/2 acers and I dont want any more species in their. Maybe one day I will experiment with arowanas. They too have lots of babies at one time.

Wow-that is really awesome! Are you spawning one species of pbass or is the Florida hybrid pbass? Is the eco-system self-sufficient or do you supplement with some type of food?

I stocked it with fl occels. The pond produces enough food for all the fish. Even with all the big fish and predator fish the blue gill and minnows substain a good population. I believe I can get these fl occels to spawn in tanks too.

Wow thats awesome!! I envy you i live to far north to support pbass or i would definatly have a pond stock with them.
