Hey ! I had the same issue with mine. She would only eat snails and bloodworms. So the best method I have found doesn’t sound the best, but it works. I didn’t feed mine for 2 days and then tried shrimp, it worked very well. I was also told they can go about a week without eating. Hope this helps ??

Nothing wrong with starving a fish for a few days and if you think about them in nature, they may go weeks without food...

I agree. I just like to make sure they are recovered from shipping and are not sick in anyway before I do this.

I have a small group, and the non-dominant ones are skinny. At first they would eat tubifex, but as time passed, I realized they only took bloodworms and brine shrimp. The tank is a 40 gal hex tall, so feeding them with forceps is difficult but I need to fatten them up so i'll try. Currently, they only seem interested in bloodworms. I'd do snails but i've had bad luck raising them, and for some reason, now that i need them, I never have snail infestations.
