Science Project Idea

Place an Anode or Cathode in the water flow, add an electrical current (low voltage (battery)) and see which way the fish swim (towards or away from the flow) and try it with different types of fish. See if you can interrupt or accelerate schooling activity.

If you had the facilities to use AC (dangerous if you don't know what your doing) and vary the frequency you have some real surprises in store with odd fish activity.

Magnetics don't show much... but can effect breeding long term.

hmm these are some good ideas. i like the behavior one. and the electrical current seems simple enough to do without having to wait very long for results. ill post up wat ive decided to go with tonight. thanks guys

ok im going with some form of the electric type experiment. havent narrowed it down to exactly wat im going to do but i was thinkin about doing something with a "memory enhancing" vitamin in different quanities introduced to the fish and seeing if it enhances how quickly they are able to learn. a student last year did this with planaria worms and a light switch, then immediate light shock. then he saw how fast they would pick up that light=shock and respond to the light before being shocked. now i was thinking doing light=food with fish. i like the electricity idea but dont know wat i would use as variables or test for. ill work out the kinks by monday and start getting any extra equipment ill need.

thanks for the ideas guys
