Never thought i would actually hear about fears of black holes swallowing the earth. Crazy...

I don't know what to think, but I thought it was interesting, and worthy of discussion. As far as the "gov't" knowing what's best and preventing something like this from happening... This has never been done before, so they wouldn't know what is best, because they don't know what's going to happen. I'm not worried about it, because there were scientist who were "sure" that the first time they detonated an atomic weapon it would destroy the world, and we're all still here. But I also think it's stupid to do this test. They must think they're going to unlock the secrets of the universe, but who really cares? Maybe they should put their "brilliant" minds to work on curing cancer or doing something to help the world instead of destroy it. JMO

Says a handful of scientists believe it could cause this, title of the article is very misleading - this is interesting stuff. I sincerely doubt some one intelligent enough to build a machine like this would knowingly put humanity at risk.

Intelligence and common sense are two completely different concepts. I don't even know if most of the scientists out there know that there are other people that could be effected. My mother was brilliant and I couldn't trust her to remember to feed my fish if I was out of town for a week.

Haha I suppose the stereotype of the mad scientist has to have come from somewhere eh?

I still think the article is blowing it a bit out of proportion - it does say only a handful of scientists are wary of the experiment.

There's already a cure for cancer found by some scientists in Canada by the way, but pharmaceutical company's won't market it because it can't be patented. It's a naturally occuring substance.

So they say..

And this experiment CANNOT kill us all.. There isn't enough support to keep the theorized Black Holes in existence..
