Very nice and very interesting to find such a unique species! WOW there might even be a chance where fish can live in deserts.

Dont lungfish do this? They stay/survive out of water using the same technique. I saw a documentary once, that showed a species of Lungfish (cant remember), that could survive up to 4 years out of water!

The fish secretes some kinda mucous that keeps it moist.
