What do you think it is then? Im pretty sure its a Jar.
Why does it look stunted this guy is 4" in a 30g tank for himself, will be moved to a 125 soon.

It IS a jar, i dont know what headbanger is talking about, the only thing it could possibly be is a Lei which i doubpt it is.

i am not sure how at that size you can be so sure, unless the fish is already bought and the less price confirms it as a jar

and about stunted, the eye looks so darn big on that little fella thats the reason i said it being stunted, but then again i am not sure of it

I will gladly inform you on how i think/know this is a Jardini.
1. This is an aro.
This is clearly not a silver nor a black aro, you can see from the shape of the fish, it is not an african aro.

2. This is not an Asian aro, they dont get mixed up with other aros, too darn expensive, also asians have more of a red colour at this age and less pearls.

3. Ofcourse i cannot confirm that it is not a S. Leichartdi, but they usually cost much more than Jardini, also they are collected at a different part of australia.

4. This is a reliable lfs.

The eyes are pretty normally sized i would think.

i think you got my comment wrong mate
and FYI i do know the difference between an osteoglossum, heterotis and a sclaeropages
you kinda don't miss on the above when you have had hands on experience keeping arowanas from all the four regions

my only doubt was to differentiate between a leichardtii and a jardini

not trying to start an argument here, was just voicing my thoughts.

No the collection point was not given, i just assume that you wouldnt mix them if they are collected from different parts of australia.
Im not trying to start an arguement either, but the lfs is so reliable that i really doupt that this is a lei, so i am going with Jardini..
