Epic score!

My dad was getting his corvette tuned by some guy, the guy was done and I gave my dad a ride to pick it up. I notice a large, empty, FILTHY aquarium sitting in there. Didn't say anything abt it, until they started talking about gas prices and someone made a reference to storing it in the tank, blah blah.

The guy starts rambling about how his son had brought it home a couple years ago and never put anything it it. I immediately asked him if he wanted to sell it to me, and the guy says I can have it FREE if I get it out of his damn shop. :headbang2 I could barely hide my excitement lol... luckily I was driving a truck and we loaded it right up.

Get it home, measure it up, its a 180 gal, 72x24x24!! He also gave me all the stuff he had with it: Hood, lights, a Magnum 350 canister (which looks like its about 15 yrs old, but I plugged it in and it fired right up lol), and a big ornamental driftwood. It also had an undergravel, but I tossed it. Have it all cleaned up now, looks like a totally different tank from when it was in the shop.

All I need to do is build a stand! Pretty stoked. Just wanted to share my good fortune with MFK.

niice, free is always the best price, id just check over the seals really well if it is glass

I will snap a couple of pics on my lunch. I did look over all of the seals and checked for any potential issues there, looks good. It has held water since last night (assuming there isn't 180 gallons of water on my floor as I sit at work lol) so I think it's a go.

Funny thing about it all is that a couple months back I thought a 55 gal was a big tank! Now I have a 180, 125, 60, 55. My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts! I blame MFK.com lol

Nice grab!

That is epic win. Congrats stock idea?
