Is it normal for my silver aro to be getting little scrapes and cuts on his back from jumping when nervous. they arent bleeding its just when i change his water he freaks and runs into things, and i will randomly hear a *FLUNK* from with in his tank, so i know he is jumping and bumping in there from being startled. SHould i be worried about these "scrapes":screwy:

No, they are going to happen. If he gets a cut deep enough to bleed you may want to think about using melafix.

Do they heal? I hope they dont hurt and i just assumed that since shes only 8 in that shes is a little more frail.

I wouldnt be worried if she was 24 inches like yours del. Bet shes a tough lil bugger

Thing is they arent scares right now, b/c she just got em like 3 days ago.

It ought to be fine in time. My aro has completely lost scales before and have grown back perfectly fine... totally unnoticable. :)

Yeah, they are like scars. Mine has a couple already, and the fish is only a little over a foot long.

well He is starting to heal. He has one scratch right behind his eyes that I can see from the top. And one on his side that just looks like a discolored scale. But just when i thought he was all was well I was watching T.V. and...... "FLUNK"! he jumped again. The next morning i looked at him and his bottom jaw as a tiny piece of skin hanging off. Not that bad though, i just wish he would ease up on the self mutilation.
