I have never owned an acrylic tank before now. Any suggestions or tips for removing scratches? Should i just use the Novus 2 product?

Novus and elbow grease.

Just follow the directions and apply and remove in circular motions. Wax on, wax off....

Depends on the scratches but minimum I would start with Novus 3 then go to 2 then 1. If the scratches are deeper you need to sand it. Get the wet type sand paper, it's sold in HD or a wood working shop like wood workers source. Sand against the scratch first so if the scratch is going up and down sand left to right across the scratch. The whole area will turn white, that's good. Then sand with finer grain up and down till you get to the novus three. Buffers work well. If I could do it over again I would get a direct drive buffer. I have a random orbit buffer and it's nice, I will never burn the acrylic. However, it takes for ever to buff anything out. With a direct drive buffer you can really lean into it to get the scratches out. Mine, if I push hard, will just stop spinning and do nothing lol.
Some guys (the pros) actually heat up the acrylic with a torch and melt the scratches, I've never tried this myself but I know it works. It also is real easy to burn the acrylic and not advises lol.

Yeah I have seen the torch method, not for me haha. I did the novus 2, then sanded the deeper scratched that did not come out. not done yet, but it is looking 100 times better!
