id say with new split in the tail someone in the tank doesnt want to see him rest. all should heal pretty quick, get some food in his belly and he will own the tank in no time.
He is rubbing against something sharp/abrasive (furniture) in the tank - may need to accomodate for it sooner or later. Caudal splits (and bloody streaks) may indeed be from light squabbles, which may stop after he and the tankmates learn their places, hopefully. Keep up watching him well, as squabbles may escalate too.
As suggested, check the 'furniture' for sharp edges and if found use sandpaper to something to round off or smooth them down. I use African root wood and completely smooth down any sharp edges with sandpaper before placing them in the tank. The scratches on your fish look minimal and will likely heal easily. When any of my catfish get skin abrasions, barbel, or fin damage of any consequence, I will treat the tank with API Melafix which seems to help them heal more quickly...
