They may be less visible with water but they will still be visible. They will also attract algae No way will baking soda or fine polish reduce as many of those are deep scratches. The wispy ones will fade when wet but the white ones will still show up just fine. Save yourself some time, remove the blue paint and flip the tank. Hopefully you will be the first person to do this and the back will be clear of the 10,000 dirty pad cleanings the front has.
