I know its suppose to be state-of-the-arts but seriously I'm freaking pissed with the FX5 45° aquastop valve.
The weird angle makes it a total PITA to remove in small enclosed area, like an aquarium cabinet.

I busted 2 of my fingers trying to turn and pull the stupid valve (yes I did press the orange part). It still refuses to come off.

And when it came off, I busted the o-rings at the connection. GREAT! Why can't they have quick-remove valves like Eheim? Anybody know of any MOD (highly doubt so) of totally replacing those valve with others?

I know most of you have large tanks where space below the tanks are very large. The valves can be easily removed.
But for people like me with small cabinets, those valve are a PITA.

get a piece of hose that fits over the part where the aquastop valve goes on and then get a 90*and hook that up to the other end of the hose and then put a ball valve on the other end of the 90* and go from there

I don't have the time or budget now. So the most feasible way is to replace the valve with something more user-friendly

Yes, that was before I clean my FX5. Usually hard to open due to the cramp area in the cabinet but this time was extremely tight. I broken an O-ring. Fixed it temporary and gonna get some lubricant and new os tmr

Aren't you the guy who did the FX5, way of life thread? LOL...

Yeah he is

I have my fx5 under my 75 and trust me there is not much room. Its all in the wrist. I find it to quiet easy to remove the aqua stop vales with minimal clearance.
