Me too.

Scuba certified (open water diver) in 2006 and it's totally worth it. After you get certified, head straight to Belize!

Been certified for a few years, got all the way up to divemaster. I totally recommend it but its expensive as all heck. Ive only been locally here in so cal, only places worth going to are laguna, catalina and maybe la jolla if you want to see a trench. I think the trench is over rated

I really want to how much do you think it would cost for me to get it? And I was looking at prices of new stuff yesterday and... Damn what do you guys think about getting a full used set up of Craigslist I saw a couple full ones for like 800

I only own my own mask, snorkel, boots, and fins. The package for everything cost me under $200 for everything and it's all pretty high end equipment. The certification will cost you anywhere between $400-$700 for full open water depending on where you get it at and what time of year it is. As for the rest of the equipment-BCD, regulator, weights, wetsuit, etc, they all can be rented for a fairly cheap rate, and if you're traveling it can be cheaper to rent equipment rather then pay to check them for most airlines. Once you know you want to keep it up and go diving fairly often then go ahead and buy your own setup but you might want to wait on the major purchases at first.

does scuba mean super cool underwater breathing apparatus?

I can never remember what the sc stands for
