Has anyone ever cultured scuds as live food for your aquarium fish? I saw some on aquabid and it seems they are easy to culture and fish seem to like them as food, but i wasn't able to really find out whether they are a good food source for fish. Anyone have experience with them? this is Gammarus Pulex by the way

had a private lfs years ago who use to sell them... they are alot of fun to watch, eat algae, and where hilariouse to see my fish at the time chase and catch. youde need imo a pretty big colony to produce enough to feed out daily, but for a snack? yeah they where fun.

They're an excellent source of food for small-medium sized fish. They aren't practical for feeding bigger species though.

Scuds are easy to breed. I use 5 gallon buckets. Feed them decaying plant material and fish food. Good for feeding smaller fish. For larger fish, you should get some self-cloning crayfish. They breed and grow like crazy.
