I got a skimmer from a friend for 10 bucks!
A seaclone 100 with pump and all plumbing!!!
It doesn't seem to pull anything out of my tank and the ar intake is super noisy!
All the parts are there and got the book with it also!!!
How the hell Do I get this think to pull "POO" ???
Anyone have one or have used one?

It takes a lot of tweaking to get it to work right. Try a google search on "Seaclone Mod" and see what you can do to make it work better. In the end, I ended up going with a CPR Bak Pak II that was a long time ago when I use to have a S/W tank.

Funny u say that thats what I want when I get the money!!! Thanks!

sea clones are not the best but do work. turn it on with the air shut off and let it purge the air out. once that is done open the air valve very slowly until it starts to pull bubbles in the chamber and leave it be for at least 1/2 hour. check to see it is not creating a bubble where the black pipe coupling is. is so turn it down to zero air and start over. if no bubble in the coupling area you can open air valve 1 notch at a time(by notch i mean the indents in the body of the air valve). after each notch let run for at least a 1/2 hr.an hour is better. you will know when your close as it will start to finally make foam. just let it work as it wont collect for a few hours at least. but watch the coupling area every now and again as that will trap air and ruin the flow rate. if a bubble builds there refer to begining of this and dont open air valve as far. good luck and with pacience it will do its job. never great or easy but it will work. if you chuck it at least keep the powerhead :)

throw it away. its good for nothing but aeration. seriously if you want a good skimmer get anything else

Good work, i couldn't seem to find any good write ups about this skimmer, all said the same, chuck it.

there's a MUCH faster way to do this..

open it all the way.. and slowly close it untill the buble is purged.. takes 2 minutes instad of 2 hours ;)

but yeah seaclones are crap.. it's not pulling anything right now cause it has to break in again (yes it breaks in even if it's been used before)

the CPR bakpak II (dual) is THE MOST BALLINEST PIECE OF EQUIPMENT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED... so far

i just hooked that bad azz mofo up and i think im scared of it, lol.. it's great..

i got a deal on it from an expo so im not sure of the octopus is cheaper of what not, but octos ate touted as well for being great skimmers
