Those are young MARINE green sea turtles. I have no idea of the current canadian laws on them other than Canada allows CITES species to be sold provided they have the requires CITES permits. The greens are the only strict herbivore marine turtle species. They feed on sea grasses and algae which can be provided in captivity with spirulina sticks/wafers and frozen/fresh sea weeds. There are spirulina wafers containing calcium supplements for proper shell growth/maintenance provided the turts receive vitamin D3 in order to be able to absorb calcium properly. Their osmoregulatory systems, hormone development, and amino acid production requirements cannot be met in FW systems. Pristine marine conditions are a must for this species.
