Seachem Prime vs. Kordon Amquel Plus

Unless you're buying mass quantities, I would think buying from a LFS will be cheaper than shipping it...
Prime vs. Amquel+...........Both smell like hot garbage, both work very well.

lol prime costs much much less. Although I did not experience a difference whatsoever when I switched from using prime for 5 years to amquel + for a year then back to prime. I just noticed how much more concentrated and cheaper prime really was I buy it by the gallon for 60...

Dr fosters does not offer bulk size bottles really.

Also as mentioned Kensfish can get you bulk. But I think he has a shipping minimum it may cost more id research it I never bought it from Kens only bigals.

Well some places have chloramine in their water....therefore prime is the only type of dechlorinator that works. I use it and love it.

Not all dechlorinators are effective on chloramine... but Prime isn't the only one that is...

Correct , top fin dechlor takes care of chloramine as does amquel and amquel+ id say more than 50% of dechlorinators on the market remove chloramine its worth a look however just in case.

You guys are buzzing about which is cheaper and more bang for buck while missing the most important difference. Amquel+ REMOVES ammonia, nitrites and nitrates, it doesn't just lock it up temporarily like Prime does and no dependency on existing biological to remove it, something prime relies heavily on. Seriously that's a huge distinction. They both are capable no doubt but one clearly does it better by removing the dangers not just masking it, which is really what we want.

I would look on amazon if u want to buy some seachem prime cheap...If ur lookin to buy it locally there is a shop in Rosemead a+ that sells it cheaper then most lfs..

Since I posted to it, it's no longer 2 years old DOH!!! I didn't see the date until after I posted (bad eyes, old age) but it was still relevant, there now it's been updated to 2011
