Seachem Purigen

Works great.

To be honest I do not see a diffrence (filtering wise) between it and carbon myself. Don't get me wrong; I use it in my tank and it has a longer lifespan than carbon by far. I will admit that it works very well at polishing water but doesn't do any better than carbon at removing tannins from the water.

It's excellent.

Everything that I've read says that especially for tannins it does much better than carbon.

It is actually a bit different from carbon on a molecular level if you trust Seachem's claims (I tend to, although they are selling a product at the end of the day).

Haven't just read it but switched to it myself.

Replaced the carbon in all of my filters with Purigen not too long ago, before I didn't notice any coloration/staining in the water and now I do. I dont mind much though, not exactly black water conditions but still a bit of color, the fish don't seem to mind.
