Seachem safe dosage (tanks) and purigen

Guys i am switching to safe from prime and wanted to make sure i understand the directions.
Seachem says 1/4 teaspoon for every 300 gal.
I have a 150, 75 and 30 gal. Would this be correct

150 gal- half of a 1/4 teaspoon measurement.

75 gal- half of the half teaspoon measurement (sorry if it doesnt make sense)

30 gal- i have no idea...a pinch maybe.

How do you guys measure it out when recharging purigen ?

Is there any harm in over dosing ? Say i just use the 1/4 teaspoon on the 150 gal. I would rather be iver than under to compensate for fluctuations in my tap water.

I dunno...I eyeball prime when I dose it...it is possible to OD with both products but I've never run into an issue...I'd say your measurements will provide you with adequate results. Don't stress to much. Purigen I have no idea, I've had a bag sitting In reserve for like 3 months while I finish my 300 setup...

First off you need to know what type of disinfectant is used to treat your local tap water, and what the residual levels are coming out of your tap. Unless you have those stats the rest will just be a guessing game.

Please disregard the numbers posted in that sticky linked to above, it appears that Seachem has once again changed their treatment levels. I'm not too sure WTF to think of that.
 
I'm off for the day, but as soon as I get a chance I'll email Seachem and see what's going on with this change in treatment amounts. 1 tsp now = 1/4 tsp?
 
According to a response from one of Seachem's reps on their forum, the directions were simplified but the formulation is still the same. It used to be one tsp per 200gal removes 4ppm chlorine, now its 1/4 tsp per 300gal for 1.25ppm chlorine.

The new label says you can safely use up to 4 times the recommended dosage, so using 1/4 tsp in your 150 is fine since Safe isn't toxic (although you would go thru it twice as fast). The danger in overdosing is that Safe is a reducing agent, so without enough chlorine or nitrogenous waste it will react with oxygen instead - potentially suffocating your fish.

So the actual dosing for a 150 would be half of the 1/4 teaspoon ?
