Seachem: Stability

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The trick with Seachem Stability is to take a firm grip on the neck of the bottle, then shake it like you would a blood parrot breeder... Until your numb or they agree to quit.. ;)

Lol, you would get numb before I decide to quit.

Ridiculous, if you have to shake that hard then the product is not worth it. lol

I've tried stability after long success with Microbe-Lift products. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and what I found was it didn't do squat. I can cycle a tank fast with Microbe-Lift products. One possible reason I can think of when using these products is that if the tank is use to a certain type of product it might interfere with a new brand. In my case, the only thing I ever used in my tank were Microbe-Lift products (chemical free I might add). So perhaps, introducing a new brand such as Seachem may have upset the progress. This is the reason why I prefer to use the same brand for all my needs. ML is not as popular unless you are a pond owner. API and Seachem seem to be the two front runners. I strongly believe you should use one brand for everything, if possible, water changes, cycling, filter media, medication, etc I don't like to mix brands. Seachem appears to have more cost effective and user-friendly instructions (the capfull idea is brilliant). I'm not a fan of adding chemicals in the water though I have used used the Prime and it works well. ML products are chem-free but not so cost effective and they don't have filter media like Seachem. I'm surprised that API does not have a better system, their caps on their bottles are wacked, I hate them. Still API has a long list of happy customers who have been using their products for years.

It comes down to which company you put the most trust in. I notice a difference in how my fish respond when using ML, API or Seachem. I think it would be cool for MFK to have a more centralized section in the forums dedicated just to these products, one for each company so we can hear the experiences of others who used these products and each product could have it's own voice/thread. There's faith in numbers and the numbers can motivate these companies to produce even better products.

I used this on my 220 a few years ago. Great success. No one died and my parameters were all gravy.

I've used it before to test it out. I put some small fish in a brand new tank, then added Stability. It worked. I've used it whenever I set up a new tank and IMO it really does work. If you really want to be safe though, add some bio media from an already established filter to your new filter.

I used 2 bottles of the seachem to start my 150g after the move. been running for 6 months no deaths yet and param are in check!

i just started using seachem stability, i'll tell you if it worked. but tank has been running for about a week without any boosters but with primafix to help with a fungus outbreak, hope it doesnt hamper my bb production.

both worked mediocre for me. fish werent too sure about em at first but maybe cuz it was a change from what i was using other times when i was experimenting myself.
