Hi mfkers..... I'm new here and my question is has anyone here used Seachem stability to cycle their tank? I want to use this stuff but heard in the long run you're going to have ammonia spike... Is this true? Any info would be great.... Thanks

I used it along with a cycled filter from my dad. If you pay close attention to your tests, you'll be ready for the spike. I highly suggest frequent water changes if you plan on going this route.

All newly setup tanks will have spikes, you just need togive it time t balance out + regular water changes. Then it should be good togo for fish.
I've used stability multiple times and never had any spikes or any other problems. Each time I have used it I did daily ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate tests with water changes twice a week. Maybe my extra water changes helped, I don't know.
I've used stability to cycle both my tanks. Takes about a week of dosage to stabilize the cycle. Just make sure u start off with a few fish during cycle period. If u over stock in the beginning it will take much longer to cycle even with seachem stability.

cycling tanks is way over rated. if you need to cycle a tank then your not changing enough water imo. never have and never will cycle a tank. i just change 50% 2 times and 20% 1 time a week and a never had any problems.

I just received the Stability I ordered (I also ordered some Prime) before I had heard about "Dr.Tims One and Only". Given the amount of money it's costing me to setup the 150L for the Oscars I want to put into it, I'm not so sure I want to spend $50+ on Dr.Tims. On the other hand, I don't want my new fish dying either.
I think with frequent testing and some regular changes over two weeks or so prior to introducing new fish into a new tank... I should be ok. Who knows, I could be wrong.

i used stability and it cycled a fully stocked tank in a week. i did do daily water changes to prevent any harmful spikes but after that i cut it down to 2 times a week water change (over stocked tank)
