Seachem stability

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yea thats what I did and it worked out pretty well

thanks man how long did it take you to complete the cycle ? I think I am close even with out the stability ... before I started dosing I was at .25 ammonia .25 nitrite and 5 nitrate. Today the nitrites went up to .5

It took me personally a about a week for ammonia to consistently be 0. I did however get nitrates on the third day. I think my water changes messed with it the cycle. Once I hit around 10-15 ppm of nitrate I did water changes and added 1 ppm of ammonia and continued doing that until ammonia was completely gone so I think I messed it up there with the water changes lol.

I would personally just leave it without doing water changes. I'm sure it'll cycle faster if you just leave it alone lol. I read a lot about how to speed the cycle up as in water changes and adding more ammonia but it seems that slowed it for me.

But now I dont even mess with cycling tanks. I just run new filters on existing tanks for a week or two and move it over to the new tank and within a two or three days with a plentiful food source the bb is strong enough to support moderate stocking from my experience.

Im cycling with fish though should I do

I personally would just leave it, you had some nitrates and added some stability so your colony should be up a running very very soon. Bb found in aquariums double within a 24 hour period best case scenario so just leaving it should be perfectly fine and not disturbing the growth of the colony.

Gonna test and let u know what it looks like.... I wanna try and keep the barbs alive son likes them

Looks like both nitrite and nitrate have both gone up. Unless I am seeing wrong what do you guys think... I get ammonia .25 nitrite 1 ppm and nitrate 5-10 ppm ? Maybe closer to 10.

Almost there! But when I added stability my nitrite phase was super short. It was only about a day? Tested it once for nitrates and then when I went to test again the next day I was cycled but ammonia lingered for a couple days. My ammonia phase was the longest in my cycle and i never really saw nitrite, just nitrate. Maybe it was my test nitrite test kit... Was the stability a creamy white when you added it?

Well i shakeable the hell out of the crap and is comes out with some suds and stuff but not creamy white. When I pour it in the tank you can def see that something not clear is being put in but I wouldnt say its creamy..more like slightly cloudy? Lol
Yeah the ammonia is still.25 bit nitrate and nitrites are continuing to rise

you are within a day or 2 ,I think...depending on the nitrite...make sure to add that ebjd last , they need a real stable tank

Yeah im gonna wait a few days after in get 0/0/whatever.
