I currently have a sump and a canister filter running on a 210g aquarium. It sounds crazy but I'm doing away with the sump. Based on this and the photos provided does anyone know what I need to completely seal it off?

If I remove one of the hoses from the bulkhead will water come out?
If you remove hose your whole entire tank will drain judging from the position it’s at lol

This looks like an oceanic setup with the hose barb bulkheads (inside the overflow tower).

Drain the setup via siphon out from inside the the overflow tower. Whatever the lowest point of water is will eventually be held back by the tower or you can drain the whole tank if your makes you more comfortable.

Go to the hardware store and buy some hose barb plugs and a couple hose clamps. Cut the hose 3” beyond the end of the hose portion of the bulkhead and push in your plugs, clamps it and done.

Swapping Out the bulkheads with better threaded ones is ideal but this can work too.

Is it possible to adjust how low the water will drain out or is there a way of someone holding something that will suction on the inside on the hole while someone else plugs it on the bottom? I'm trying to prevent having to remove my fish because my arowana is a jumper and I want to try to prevent him getting injured if possible. It has happened in the past when adding driftwood to the tank and when he got spooked he jumped up out of the water and scraped his self badly on the plastic brace on the tank.

I used two flat pieces of marble countertop and a fat ring of silicone to seal mine. I'm a sponge filter guy, but it was a free tank...

And they are inside the overflow towers exactly like you said. Would the hose barn plugs be more durable than bulkhead plugs?

I've heard of people doing that before but I would have to drain the tank and if I do it that way wouldn't it be difficult to go back to sump if I ever sold it for a larger one or decided to switch bag for some reason?
