If this is true it sounds like a good season ahead for us. I like that he stayed in the States - I want to see some local river monsters!

River Monsters

Animal Planet's River Monsters and host Jeremy Wade have been baited into continuing their search for the river world's most disturbing creatures.

River Monsters, which has quickly turned into one of Animal Planet's signature shows, was just given a fourth season order by the cable network and shooting has begun on seven new episodes that will air in April 2012.

Wade has already taken River Monsters across the globe, but for next season the show plans to remain Stateside. Among the stops: Rivers in Florida, Texas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Season 4 will open with a two-hour special in which Wade tracks down river creatures spotted by viewers. The host will investigate these claims, including a bullshark in Fort Pierce, Fla.; an alligator in Mount Belvieu, Texas; a catfish in Osage Beach, Mo.; and noodling in Oklahoma. Many of those river monsters are blamed for animal attacks.

River Monsters, which comes from producer Icon Films, just posted some of its highest ratings yet last Sunday. That episode, which followed Wade on a trip to Argentina (where he captures his biggest monster yet), became one of Animal Planet's top three shows ever in the adults 18-49 demographic. Grab a fishing pole!

The suspense-filled premiere "American Killers" follows Wade as he treks across the U.S. in search of deadly river monsters living in the nation's waterways - from the popular Indian River Lagoon in Florida, where unsuspecting water enthusiasts are faced with what could become a modern day "Jaws," to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, where underwater hunters have reached man-eating proportions. Other U.S. locations include Barbers Hill Canal and the Trinity River in Texas as well as the creeks and lakes of Oklahoma.

The season four finale episode of RIVER MONSTERS, "Lair of Giants," is a two-hour look at one of the most challenging expeditions of Wade's life, premiering May 27, at 9 PM (ET/PT). It's a different adventure for Wade as he journeys into the unknown and isolated jungles of Guyana, South America, where early explorers wrote about a river system filled with mysterious giants - the Esequibo River. The two-hour finale of RIVER MONSTERS is part of Animal Planet's first-ever Monster Week, where for eight nights the mysterious menaces of the animal world take over the network's lineup, beginning with amped-up episodes of RIVER MONSTERS, featuring lost footage as well as all-new, monster-sized episodes scattered throughout the week and the season finale, "Lair of Giants."

The bullshark seems to keep popping up.

Im waiting for an episode of ARMATUS! Or did I miss that one Lol. I seen a quick 2 sec clip of the one that ate another but that was it:irked:

SAME HERE!!!!!The armatus and peacock bass deserve their own eps,no more piggy backing on other episodes.

Yup! Catfish are boring and all have the same result... "Slurp."

Pedro over at Aquascape needs to get Jeremy Wade up on game with the rest of the monsters.

I enjoyed the Arapaima, Aimara, Tiger Fish (Obviously), Gar, Piranha, Snakeheads, Stingray, Perch, Goonch, Saw Fish and the Japanese lizard thing. The rest were... "Eh, not my style or don't remember"

He needs to get on the ball with Asian Arowana, Armatus, Congicus/Bichir Bichir, Paddle Fish, Mako Shark and Cichla Intermedia's already (and bring a few over while hes at it )

LOL @the Japanese lizard thing....How about an ep on the huge catfish of the Amazon?..There are quite a few to cover.

I think one episode on all the Catfish, or it would be boring (IMO). "Look at how stiff he awaits the next meal" "Look how big and still he is" blah blah. I think my ADD would kick in by the 3rd catfish episode Lol

So I may not be following this well. But I'm super stoked for this show back on but when is the first episode April 27? And when does this monster week start on?
