I have a 125g tank from what I've read around I dont have enough filtration I have a marineland c530 canister and a power head across the tank to help with flow is that enough or should I add another filter if so what do you recommend?

Current stock is:
1x black tiger oscar
1x Jack dempsey
1x firemouth
1x Raphael catfish
5x silver dollar

I can't really say I have a schedule but I try to do 25 to 50% when the water level gets below the top trim

Oscars and cichlids in general are messy fish so a heavy water change schedule is important in keeping parameters in check for optimum health. Canisters can also become what people call "Nitrate factories" when they aren't cleaned regularly and all that gunk builds up. Just because you cant see it in the water columnand display tank..doesn't mean it isn't there.
So basically you could add more filtration but most importantly do those water changes and clean those canisters.

Ya I've noticed the canister filter gets nasty I do have a few hob filters but there isn't enough room between the tank and the wall unfortunately to have them on the tank

Like I usually recommend, if possible, go for a sump, it dilutes the waste and gives you plenty of space for biomedia, foam pads, reactors, sponge filters, plants, etc. If I were you, I'd get a sump and have a canister filter or HOB filter on there as a secondary filter

If you don't wan't a sump (which i'd recomend as well). Go for another cannister or a pre-filter to daisy chain your current one. It might slow the flow rate though.

If you can spend $200 plus tax then check petsmart as someone quite recently mentioned that fx6 are on sale for $200.
