Hi all. I am planning on running 2 Rena XP3's and an AC110 on my new 150 gallon.

now, in the past, with my XP3, I jammed the output in between the AC110 and the edge of my glass top to prevent my monster fish from ever knocking it up and off of the tank (effectively draining my tank down to the bottom of the inlet strainer..)

However, I want to put one XP3 on each end of my new 150, with the AC110 in the middle..

I don't trust the suction cups alone for securing the output nozzle in the tank. if it ever came out, I would have major trouble obviously..lol

Has anyone tried clamps to secure their output nozzles on to their tanks?

look for some ideas as to making it such that the outputs for the XP3's can never come off, unless someone physically removes them..not via a big fish banging it off the tank...

any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks..

Why don't you use the hard plastic U and cut the hose too short to lift the U up and over the top of the tank?

get the magnetic clips. i think zoo med makes them.

You could silicone in a piece of plexi with the outlet siliconed within a hole in the plexi

My new Midas kept attacking the powerjet nozzle on my XP3. I was afraid of my tank draining as well, so I just replaced the powerjet nozzle with the spraybar so a disaster is less likely to happen. I know you like the powerjet, so you probably don't like this option.

thanks for the ideas so far..

drilling won't work, since the lip around the trim of the tank is very small....

If it's a standard tank it'll work. The lip only has to be a 1/8"-1/4" or so thick. I've done it many times. A very small hole and a thin cable tie works wonders. I use that technique to hold dividers, driftwood, heaters......whatever needs to STAY in place! :)
