I might be a little late but I tore down three established canisters on my tank at once to set up the big canister. I left an eheim 2236 going because it is super low flow. I also took 1 liter of bio media out of the old canisters and put it in the new. Left that in there all last month and no mini cycle no spikes. All is good.

I've tested every day now that the fish are in. Still no signs of ammonia.

I'd be nervous breaking down 3 filters all at once. I have a wet/dry running on another tank that I have sponge and bio balls in. I plan on taking half the bio balls out and adding them in this tanks sump.replacing them with new.

I definitely wasn't confident. But running a 2260 3 xp3s and a 2236 on a 60 wasn't an option. Worked out super well though.
