SEEKING ADVISE ON GOLD SAUM/JACK DEMSEY , HELP HELP !!

I had problems trying to keep a smaller male JD in with a larger male gold saum in a 55gal. One night the JD just snapped and tore off 10-20% of the GT's scales. Adding a divider was the only thing that saved the GT. GTs are bullies, but really can't back it up as well as almost any CA cichlid can. Tried the GT with a male convict and had the same issues. Then again the convict and JD were VERY aggressive in other tanks, so it's possible that you may find a more laid back JD.
 
i got them wen they were really small and they were in the same tank wit dempseys , and i am fairly new to the cichlid thing but ive had community tanks all my life so i know the basic stuff , anyway i think imma jus stikk wit these GS's cus im already attached to them and i don wanna jus give em bakk to the pet shop so they could be mistreated , unless any body who i could trust wit them wants to take , ill consider that

i don want a laid back dempsey i want a beautiful monster like i had a couple years bakk and i know i gotta get rid of these gold saums if i want that
 
Just get rid of the GS and get a JD but personally i think a full grown male GS looks way nicer than most full grown JDs
