Thats why I will never ever do too tall tanks again shallow and wide for me forever

hi just sayin,,your tank looks unsafe on that,,u need to have cross members to stop it from falling down also you would get 100% more streangh if you built accross the top of the uprights,,,,

explain?

I feel exactly the opposite, now that I've had a 30" tall tank I don't think I could ever go back to a short one again. Despite it's few inconviences I feel the look is definitly worth it.

I will take a stab at why your stand looks unsafe/unstable:
If someone bumps into the side of the tank or if there is an earthquake, that setup will go down like dominos. Each upright looks like it's free-standing. You would want to brace them (lateral support) so that they are one solid piece.

cool i'll see what i can do.

think it would work the same if i wedge a peice of wood across the bottom and also across the top?

My 360 is a 44" deep tank and it's a PITA to do any kind of work on it. A couple tools that are useful: Magnet algae scrapers for cleaning the acrylic and I also use one of those 4 foot long snake grabbers to pick stuff off the bottom.

yup thats it, even a sheet of ply would solve it,if u intend to add shelfing then that will also slove it, idealy you want a x, imanige, say top left corner to bottom right and top right to bottom left, and 1 across the bottom,,a small sheet of ply will be fine on ends

ah after lookin at photo again im guessing your gona use the middle for eqment cool then a sheet of ply will work then you can cut out middle to make your doors and still have shelfs on the side
