Seeking Your Opinion on Selling Stock

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have istlanum adult pairs, fry and everything in between. Looks like we will be having a Cichlid meet at Darren's house mid July so maybe we can
hook up then. I will be sending out an e-mail later today on that....

If you are going to sell fish I would ship and avoid the local selling unless it is through club meetings. Selling locally might initial move some fish but you will quickly run out of buyers. Plus you do not want random people showing up at your house all of the time. If there is a local club use it so at least you somewhat know who the people are. Shipping online is the only way to go to move fish. Keeping rare sa/ca cichlids leads to a small market to begin with so opening it up to the whole US will give you a lot more sales. Shipping is very easy. Everyone acts like its a real pain or hard but I can bag and box fish and drop them off at FedEx in less time than most people would spend wondering around my house asking tons of questions. Plus I just did not want all of those people at my house.

Try selling through a local club. If that does not move enough fish all you really need is an O2 tank, bags, rubberbands, and cooler boxes.

Sorry this is off topic, but curious Mel what does your Dovii diet consist of? How old is he? Thanks!

Man how great it would be to get some of your fish. Here in Albany NY the hobby is weak for large aggressive cichlids. People wanna spend next to nothing if you sell on CL. My lfs barely take trades on aggressive fish or give you nothing for them. Shipping is the way to go once your at that point I see your stock going quick
