I've got a box of rocks, which used to be live rock. I got it with a used tank. Is it worth selling? And if so, what would I called it? Dead live rock sounds pretty dumb :).

I've also got a lot of crushed coral sand, which I have no use for. Is this worth much?

No use to me sitting in the garage.

Yes "dead live rock" has value... as does crushed coral sand...

Atlanta has a local saltwater club, I would find their forum and see if you can sell it there...

If you can't think of a logical simple way to label the rock... just describe it, I'm sure they'll know what ya mean ;)

Once the live rock is dead, it's basically base rock. It's still worth a couple bucks a pound.

cool. Hopefully I can make a few bucks. I've got a big box full, probably about a ton or two.

How much is the sand worth? I've got 90 lbs, I just weighed it.

Also, should I do anything to prepare it? I haven't touched either. The sand was in two 5 gallon buckets when I got it, and I just left it on the porch. The rock has been in a cardboard box in my garage, it was used in a brackish tank before I bought it. Should I just sell it as is? The rock is greenish from algae on one side.

I put the sand up for .50 per pound, the rocks for $2 per pound....I'm sure my inbox will be loaded with emails in about a day.
