sexually dimorphic means there are no visible parts that one has that the other one does not. I have read that the only way to tell a true california round ray male is by their teeth- the males teeth come to a point and they also point inward so that while mating he can bite down on the female and get a firm hold on her so she can't swim away while mating. I sure would like to see pictures though

it was wikipedia that said that but it looks like i read it wrong. I thought something was wrong since other rays have the claspers. Now I hope the one that is waiting for me in St. Louis is a male.

yep your right, I just took a close look at my 2 pups and one does have claspers
