I think you both are on the same page unless I'm missing something.

I know that a lot of hybrid keepers are not responsible with what they sell.

My point is that it's not always a hybrid keeper that's causing the problem. This is a fine example. Someone has a (supposed) "pure" fish that's being sold as a different type of pure fish. Fingers can point both ways.

Cool keep up the slandering of TFD, first he sells hybrids as pure and now he aslo mis identifys fish too :screwy:

Most you guys have never even seen 1-1 1/2" trimac. As we've seen in the past even Jeff Rapps has been fooled on this one.

What would you have had me say? "Hooray for irresponsible keeping."?

That would have covered it. For some reason you made it a point to bring hybrids into the negative light. If you're claiming to be fair, then be fair.

I haven't seen any slandering in this thread.

hybrids are fine as long as they are labeled correctly

I completely agree, but that should apply to ALL fish as well. I can't really say much more than that.

yes it should

Slandering is making statement that makes a false claim, that may give a person or business a negative image.

Without any proof the following statement is slander. Being a vendor here on MFK I don't see how such statements can be made about him without posting any proof.

I almost bought from this dealer! But was educated about it first which saved me, this same dealer sells mayans as red terrors. And god knows what else is f'd up.

I can see the open debate on if the fish is or isn't pure. Like I said before, most of the posters haven't even seen a trimac that is 1 to 1.5".

Every responsible seller should strive to make sure he sells the fish labeled prioperly. I know I do, but when you are buying fry from others you have to trust them that what they sell you are really are the right fish. I buy whole spawns when they are small and grow them out to resell, so far so good, but someone could slip me some mis-identified fish. I know most of my local breeders, bit occationally buy fry from one of the board members here. I know of one occation where I sold a Parachromis motoguenese that turned out to be a fredrickstalli as it grew larger. I had bought the fry from a very reputable breeder and all the rest of the fry were Motoguense, so a freddy accidently got mixed in, That ***** happenes. Ken

This dealer is a wholesaler and as it is with most large volume wholesaler most fish are sold as invoiced.

Red Terror is a general name and it has been applied to Mayans in some cases. If he had stated they were Festae then that is a different case.

I recently saw an Aquabid auction from TFD selling some gar as an unknown species since they were supposed to be alligator gars but were later proven not to be.
