well i'm sick of my bass. i've given them a fair go and kept them for a year now. i'm sick of trying to get them to eat and keep em happy so i'd rather them go to someone who really knows what they are doing.

SO..... it begs the question - what should i put with my 2 O's (please don't say more O's :) ).

so far i'm thinking good tankmates would be green terrors, jack dempseys, severums, texas, braziliensis, cubans etc

TANK is 1000L - 7' x 2' x 2.5'

any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

giant gourami ftw.

they're like a bigger version of oscars and have more personality.

man i sold my pink gg on my avatar for 300 bucks...55cms

All the fish you have said would be good to go in with Oscars .

I have with my Oscar is a Silver Awo' , Blackbelt Cichlid , Jaguar Cichlid , 3 Severums , Common Pleco , Tire Track Eel , Port Acara and a Jack Dempsy , all are qiut small biggest been the Coomon Pleco and 13inch smallest been a 3.5inch Severum .

They are all doing great with very very little fighting .

Pikes can be extremely aggressive, so it would be a risk.

fair enough. i've never really been interested in them so i haven't paid alot of attention to them in the classifieds. there is 1 at my LFS at the moment around 15cm and costs $250. i guess you can get em cheaper elsewhere - just never looked

they're no different than "regular" cichlids, really. It depends on the personality, but usually they're only really aggressive with other pikes and sometimes are even okay with conspecifics. I would try a johanna or Xingu I. they're pretty readily available, fairly inexpensive and get a good size but not huge like venezuela
