Hey y'all! I've been growing Golden Pothos in my Discus community tank as a surface plant, and it has done very well in the water; it got me thinking: What if I put clippings of pothos in my tank, grow them out, and then sell the plants either as is or in pots? Would this be a good idea? Depending on size, I would sell the grown-out clippings for $5 or less and potted clippings for $20 or more. I'm curious to find out others' opinions on this.

If people continue to leave them in the aquarium, they could trust that it doesn't have the pests that are possible with stores because my tank is snail and other pest-free. I could make some serious cash doing this, that is, if people are in the market for this. Also, I would not ship it; I would only keep it within my area.

Regular pothos is worth as much as a bucket of dirt.
What's stopping someone for buying a massive vine from bunnings, for under $20 instead of buying a couple of leaves from you.

Well, I would be selling Golden Pothos, among other variants. And plus, I would give them good deals.

Nothing special about any pothos really. - This is coming from someone who's pretty heavy into plants.
Golden pothos, Neon and others are quite common. Worth nothing.
Even the rarer stuff like manjula and n'joy are still cheap, and those varieties I haven't had much success with in aquariums, due to light levels and high vareigation.
Just don't really bother. Growing plants for money is only profitable if you've got super rare species of plants or expensive variegations (Think $250+ for a single leaf cutting)

In my case, because I haven't been able to find any pothos at Bunnings when I've looked.
Really? I was at bunnings this morning. Had a handful of varieties decent sized plants as well. Have a look at their indoor plant section.

I have, one time I actually asked and got a blank look from the persion for both "Pothos" and "Devil's Ivy"
Damn. Where you going to bunnings and getting that kind of service. I've been to bunnings all along the east coast and they've all had pothos
