Would a female Bluegill and a senegal bichir be able to co-exist peacefully in a 55 gallon aquarium? It is extremely well filtered, at the moment the sen is aboit 4" and the female bluegill is closer to 8", I'm going to get a divider and put in so the sen can get some size to it and then take out the divider if the ycan co-exist, the bluegill is rather peacefull but I'm just worried about the bichir getting abused.

with that kind of size difference i wouldn't put it past the bluegill to just think it was a worm

^^ yeah at 6-8" but 4? pretty big difference in how big around they are, might work but might not

I'm going to keep them apart with a divider until the sen gets a bit bigger. Then when it is bigger I will take out the divider.

I had a green sunfish for about 5 years with ornates and laps. Never had a problem until the sunfish decided to see what life outside the tank was like. He was a cool little fish.

Bichirs: "The grass is greener on the other side"
Sunfish: "Ok!" *jumps*

I was wondering, why didnt you keep your tank covered since there are bichirs inside?

knowing bluegills it may have knocked the cover he had off, they're persistent little bastards
