Hey gang got a question on feeding. I have a small eel that I just want to make sure I am doing right by. The shop told me he would eat the same stuff my cichlids are as he is growing. See pictures. Does this seem right?20190131_172240.jpg 20190131_172247.jpg 20190131_172240.jpg 20190131_172247.jpg 20190131_172240.jpg 20190131_172247.jpg 20190131_172307.jpg 20190131_172331.jpg 20190131_172240.jpg 20190131_172247.jpg 20190131_172307.jpg 20190131_172331.jpg 20190131_172346.jpg

I assume it’s not a true eel but bichir. Would try a sinking pellet. Ur cichlids and bichir can eat same pellets. Flakes and bloodworms are a good temporary food.

Unfortunately if they told you that the flake food and bloodworms were good for them that's not correct. Most Polypterus members feed a pellet food such as Massivore and small peices of fish preferably Tilapia. Tbh some LFS don't have a clue what is the right diet for them.
I personally feed my Senegal pellet, Freeze dried plankton, and Tilapia. Bloodworms should be offered as a treat.

It was advertised as a biker eel. Which I know is not what it actually is and that it isnt an "eel" the pattern on it was concidered... fancy... I will try and get a better picture. He likes chilling at the top behind the filter.20190131_192827.jpg
