If you can't go bigger than a 29g, I'd say go for option 1

option 1 sounds better in your situation. If your going to get senegals you will need a bigger tank, and unfortunately some can be aggressive towards other fish (majority), if you ever plan to get more fish so there's more movement, especially for an office i think you would want more movement.

Eventually the sen will out grow your 29g and you will have to face another problem in 3 months time. My suggestion is - save yourself from future problem and choose option #1.

Thanks for the feedback guys.....Option one it is. Its not like a huge dissapointment either because it will be a really nice tank, just not as interesting as option 2. Could you imagine the average sales guy in my office..."Um those are cool eels?" I think people would have gotten a kick out of the Bichirs...
