I agree. I just observed my 11" senegal eat a pleco (Death rolled the flesh from the head back) The pleco was after his slime coat and the sen was always docile but decided he had enough I guess and snapped at him...Cerbios;3937216; said:I have one, and hes one of the more personable and intelligent fish Ive ever owned. Mines always very inquisitive watching everything I do to his tank. They're a neat 'oddball' fish for a tank because unlike many of the larger polys they're fairly active, and unlike most freshwater eels they don't usually hide. I'd recommend one obviously but would depend to whether you think they look neat, and whether or not you have any fish in you tank they could swallow. Also bear in mind bichirs and 'cleaning' fish like plecos don't mix well. ( I don't know what he'd be sharing the 75 with)
How big was the pleco? I've only seen large gar or cats put up much of a fight and even eat the big common plecos. Thats insane that your senegal did.tcarswell;3937267; said:I agree. They are a very fun fish. They grow rather quick and are very personable , intelligent and easy to keep. All my bichirs (including Endlicheri) hand feed and they are personable to the point where my main show tank in the house and largest tank currently is a bichir only tank![]()
However what I enjoy may be different than you. I suggest watching youtube video's and doing your research (Especially the stickies in the polyterus area) to make sure they are the right fish for you.
