Senegal growth rate question

hey guys, how fast do these guys grow? if i was to buy one at 3-4", how long before it hit and surpassed 6"? reason i ask is because i have set up a 29g Niger River Basin Biotope that will have:

- Petrocephalus bovei bovei (Baby Whale) (already own)
- Pantodon buchholzi (African Butterfly fish) (soon)
- Pareutropius buffei (False Debauwi Catfish) (soon)

the tank is cycled and everything already, i just would like a Polypterus species in there because it is another oddball and i figured senegals, from my experience and what ive heard, grow slower then the rest of the Polyp's that are in this Basin.

so they grow that quick huh? hmm... im just debating now whether to try it or not, i have tanks for it to go to if it out grows the 29 anyway so i may try er out.

I think ropes should be in 55g or bigger. We had some at the LFS I worked at, they were about 12''.

i would upgrade sooner but im in college dorms and the rope never comes out from his hiding spot anyway. he is always behing a 6" piece of slate

ive had them before, mine was at 16" when he died , but was wondering because of how string like they are compared to the bichirs if they might be ok, ill give the senegal a try instead then

i will be adding more plants as soon as i can get to a LFS that has ncie anubias and more large vallisneria, but for right now that is it.
