senegal help

so everytime i feed my little 5" inch senegal he gets really fat and looks like hes bloated. when i do waterchange i usually starve my fish and the senegal looks likes hes ok. he just gets really bloated when i feed him. is this normal, is he just building up his fat, or just getting bloated

Nothing wrong with him, it's pretty normal for them to bulge a bit after eating. So long as he doesn't stay that way, he's fine.
 
shrimp are ok, dont feed him the pellets though, i have 8 bichir, 2 are senegal, hell always bulge that is totally normal, like Wretched5705 said they are pigs, but the pellets do seem to keep the "bloated" much longer and they seem much less active after eating, also they are vigorous eaters so i try to feed them as much life food as possible, wors, shrimp, i have even put crawfish in with them, they stalk them for a few days then tear them to shreds, anyways id stay away from the pellets, live food is always a better option
 
even if the pellets do make him bloat i wouldnt feed live food. frozen foods and pellets is the way to go :)

o and how long have you had him? they will grow extremely fast givin the right diet and space, my youngest i have had for 3 months, and he has gone from 2" and very thin to over 6" and has grown about 1/2" in diameter, last month i got to see a 4 foot senegal at cleveland zoo!
