6 red belly are very aggressive. They get aggressive by the number. It's just a matter of time ur red devil will be eaten. Keep ur senegal where he's at right now. Just move him when u get a bigger tank.

Am I killing him in my 30 inch 30 gallon tank though?
I plan on getting a big tank next month after I move, but in the meantime I feel bad keeping it in the 30.

A 30 gallon won't kill him, as long as you are okay on water quality, but he does need a larger tank. Putting him in with the piranhas is definitely a bad idea, and keeping the RD with them is an equally poor decision.
