Senegal's size and aggressiveness?

The two I have now are pretty chill, there's an inherited cherry barb that pre-dates them in the tank. My first one was a death roller, though. Killed an angel and tried to get a second before I moved the other two.
He even took an algae chip on a death roll when he was about 3 and a half inches, that was funny. He was fine with the brown knife, spiny eel and even with 3 danios that were put in as feeders, there was just something about the angelfish I guess, maybe it was the long fins.

i have mine in with my rams. he seems to be uninterested in anything but worms and pellets. he is young still tho he will go in a larger tank when he gets bigger.

55 Gallon might be a bit small for the Bichir and those other fish. A couple of them might have territorial issues if they don't have a lot of spots to hide in. Again, as mentioned earlier, unless you raise them together, many of those fish may become eventual meals for the Bichir. Bichirs are mainly peaceful fish though they're still predators and will still eat whatever they can chase down and fit into their mouths depending on temperament or how you're feeding them.

One thing I don't think anyone's pointed out is the Pictus Catfish. I've heard of Bichirs going after catfish whiskers in the past and when I tried it out in one of my tanks I sometimes saw it happen but to be fair that might've been just personality or curiosity, (IMO, I'd guess the Bichir would see the whisker as a worm or something lol.).

I'm not too sure about the Firemouth Cichlid. I have a Pike Cichlid in my Bichir tank now but I have kept Jewel Cichlids with older Bichirs and the Jewels always gave them major problems including nipping at their back fins. Though I've never kept a Firemouth Cichlid so I'm not sure how their behavior works, just saying.

Anyway good luck and I hope it works out.

Firemouths are one of the most peaceful cichlids. I tried jewels once, devils! I sent them back to the store after all my fishes fins were torn :(

I don't think I'll risk it, I like my pictus's wiskers intact.
