Senegals

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If that senegal is a really big eater and active, then no for 2 years, maybe 1 year. I can see a senegal reach about 6" in one year if it eats a lot. The swimming space of 3 feet is a bit small. I had to section off my 4 foot 55g, and when my polli (about as active as a senegal) was 6", it became less active at 3 feet of swimming space. When I removed the barrier, it was back to being active. That 1 foot made a difference.

The severum will dictate if it will allow the senegal freedom. It's 50/50 chance that you are taking. With a larger enough tank (more than 3 feet), the dynamics could be great and the severum will tolerate the senegal.

The chances of getting the senegal is slim . As my dad said NO to getting a new setup running. I have the tank but they're sitting dry . He said maintaining 4-5 tanks would be a task as I'll be gone for college so ,No senegal for now.
Btw thanks for the replies . I may get a lowboy tank setup with senegals at the dorm room at college if I can sneak a tank inside ?

I know my college dorm had a rule that any pet must be able to stay underwater for 5 minutes. That pretty much ruled out any pet besides fish, and maybe some amphibians.

Most colleges have a 10 gallon limit. Kinda ruins the fun when the coolest options are rare bettas or dwarf puffers (not that it still isn’t fun).
