Senegalus is being a jerk!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks nice but if that was my tank ill take out the othe wood in the right corner tank, just to open that part alittle bit, any gap can be claim as territory for your sen and once a fish gets close to it the sen will nip it.

Alright I'll go ahead and do that. I really like the more open space the polys actually seem to be calmer in my opinion. Time will tell

I'd like to once again thank everyone for helping me sort this out and hopefully everything works out but you guys have been a lot of help. There's not a lot of places where you can find the amount of knowledgeable people in one place that there is here!

Thanks guys and gals!

How is the aggression?

It might not be as common as an ornate or endlii but I've certainly read about aggressive Sens in the past on here. I hope you can get past it without rehoming but I am also in the "low aggression tolerance" camp. I rehomed a Palmas Palmas (not supposed to be aggressive) and though she was gorgeous I don't regret it for a second. She completely ripped up the tail of my Del as well as caudal and pec fin - was clamping and holding onto the Del as she tried to swim away.

I enjoy my tank setup too much and bare tanks without decor don't please me aesthetically. If the Palmas couldn't live in my preferred setup she had to go to a place that she could. My current group all gets along great, they pile on each other, and there is zero aggression. It's nice. :)

How are the endlis doing ?

They're doing really well actually. The one with the missing fin is actually moving around and eating more than the one with no damage.

I'm still waiting to see how things go but everyone seems happier and a lot more movement in the tank with everyone.

Probably going to take out the cichlids and go a different route with the mid level fish. I just saw some nudging from the EBA I didn't really see any nipping but I just don't like the picking. And the Texas cichlids we're never planned to be permanent residents anyway.

Hows the sen's aggression with the open tank?

Not as good as I want it to be but better. The sen actually passed by the teug several times last night without bothering her. But this morning I did see him lunge at her.

But the polys definitely seem a lot more relaxed. They just chill in the open not even trying to hide which if they really wanted to they could.
