they sell breeder keepers at pet stores. its plastic that has small holes in it so the water can filter through and all u do is slide them into place according to the measurments of ur tank!
the plastic grids are called eggcrate at the stores around here, the craft store stuff works good if you can find big enough sheets, pretty sure it's called plastic canvas or stitching guides, just tie them together with fishing line or use hot glue. silicone doesn't adhere to the plexiglass too good.
I used the craft stuff and stiched it together with that green wire for hanging up pictures and other craft stuff. I did paint it with fusion by rustolium (its for plastics) It says it drys in 15 mins and can handle in 1 hour. However it says "non chipping after 7 days" If I use it a couple of hours after it has dried (its been about 2 hours so far) will it hurt my fish do you think? Actually I think this should be a new post.
the paint is fine, but don't put it in the tank now, wait atleast 24 hrs, i've used it but always waited 24hrs before adding it to the tank, if the green wire has steel inside it will rust and cause problems down the road.
