I have fry from a blue gene/gold gene pair of JDs.They are almost 2 weeks old now.My question is,do the ebjds need to be separated from the regular jds? There are also some gold jds mixed in too.Do all the jds need to be separated from each other? If so at what age does this need to be done by?I was told when I got this pair that they will produce ebjds, gold jds, blue gold jds and regular jds.

separated them when they are 3" or fighting..

I read somewhere that after a few months the regular jd siblings would actually kill and eat the ebjd siblings as they are weaker. And thats why you dont find ebjd in the wild.Dont know what to believe.

I had gold jacks and ebjd in the same tank and lost a couple eb fry... generally I suggest that you take out the faster growing ones as they will eat the slower growing fry
