No, it's not a real tree, but a fake, hollowed one made from resin(sp?) that US Petmart store chain usually sell...

It looks pretty realistic with hair algea growing on it, but other plants (such as javaferns) won't be able to set root on it as for real wood...
 
very very nice pic, not to sound dumb but what kind of goby is that i'm just starting to get into the oddball monster fish, very nice photo again
